Steam locomotive BR 80, analogue with sound module and steam generator, G Scale Garden Gauge IIm.

Steam locomotive BR80 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn with sound module and steam generator for analog operation. Also suitable for LGB systems.

Some sounds of the sound module can be controlled by track magnets.

Power and power consumption
It receives the current via the sliding contacts on both sides. Input 0-20 volts. Only drivers from Piko, e.g. No. 350006, which can be connected to the water-resistant Piko transformers / power supply with IP 67, or have the 20 Volt voltage. The locomotive comes from a Piko train set and is packed in a styrofoam packaging by Zenner.

Please note that the locomotive needs more power with the steam generator switched on. The switch can be found behind the removable smoke chamber door. Then the locomotive drives slower. If you have an older speed controller / transformer, which only brings 16 volts voltage, too little power flows. Then it only helps to let the locomotive run in longer and to grease or oil the linkage at all moving points and the axles

Certain sound, such as the whistling is switched on by track magnets, which are put on the track. After a while the whistling stops. Further track magnets are available from specialist dealers. Please also order a big pot of steam liquid for the steam generator.

With sound and steam, the locomotive runs a bit slower with older transformers. Therefore, use a newer drive controller with transformer, which bring at least 30VA power.
