The charger is deliberately not designed to strong up to 500mAh because it has no charge control.

Therefore, unplug the charger after a few hours. The charging time of a 1800mAh battery is about 3 1/2 hours. When overcharging with a relatively few 500mAh you have time before the battery heats up seriously. It's best to set an alarm clock at the store.

NiMK rechargeable batteries can be quickly charged even with a higher charging current with larger chargers, but caution, because the maximum charging current should not be exceeded. When the battery is full, it heats up faster and can damage the battery or shorten its life.
